(These instructions apply to larger jars. If you have sample jars, do the three steps below – dip, tap, apply– on a sheet of paper folded in half. That way you will be able to put the leftover minerals back in the jar!)

Basic Instructions:
If you can remember these three words – DIP, TAP, APPLY– then you can become a pro at applying your mineral makeup.

DIP– Swirl a small amount of minerals in the lid with your brush until all the minerals are tucked into the bristles.
TAP – Tap away excess. Minerals should not be visible on the outside of the brush.
APPLY– Buff minerals onto the skin in a circular motion, starting on the outside of your face near your cheekbone, swirling as you go. Buff around your
face and then approach your forehead, cheeks and nose. Buff, buff, buff until you are satisfied with the coverage. Less is more when applying mineral
 makeup.

Detailed, Step By Step Instructions:

Step 1 - Foundation
Open the jar and tap a very small amount into the lid. Using a face brush, swirl in the lid until all the minerals are absorbed into the tapers of the brush. Now tap brush handle on edge of lid to remove excess minerals. There should be no visible foundation on the outside of the brush. Buff foundation into your skin using a swirling motion. If you have visible pores, go over those areas last. Buff on the foundation, working in thin layers until you are satisfied with the coverage.

Step 2 – Concealer
For any area needing extra coverage, use an eyeshadow brush or concealer brush and apply a tiny amount of concealer. You may find it beneficial to press the minerals into your skin using your fingers or a sponge. For added coverage there are two options: 1 - make a paste in the palm of your hand by tapping out a small amount of minerals and adding a drop or two of water; or 2 – begin your routine with concealer, putting on foundation next, and maybe even concealing again if necessary.

Step 3 – Allover Face Color
Use a different brush and follow the same three steps to apply allover face color. Start with your cheeks and brush the color towards your hairline. Then lightly dust minerals on forehead, down nose and across chin.

Step 4 – Finishing Powder
Using your face brush again, buff powder on your entire face, using the “dip, tap, apply” method. Finishing powder gives you that “soft-focus” look, minimizes your pores, absorbs oil, and helps keep your makeup on all day.
